Programming in Logantown study circles, monthly community meetings, workshops, training programs, energy assistance programs, job & employment services, housing opportunities, family self-sufficiency program, special projects, lexington avenue tot-lot, motion sensor light, targeted weatherization, neighborhood cleanup, neighborhood planning, city of Altoona code compliance, project housing rehabilitation, and Chestnut/Lexington/Howard streetscape project.


Goals

The Comprehensive Services Program (CSP) is seen as a magnet project. The CSP has established 3 goals to serve as over-acting guides for the project.
Goal statement: foster the development of personal and family resources for low-income people living within the target areas.
Goal statement: increase business growth within the target area as a method of creating employment opportunities for low-income residents.
Goal statement: improve the physical and economic environment in the target neighborhoods.

Special Issues

Substantially improve housing
Revise educational and job readiness
Build the capacity of community and neighborhood organizations
Encourage and assist neighborhood based community development
Create job training and training referral service
Develop an educational program for drug prevention
Encourage every individual to become an active and effective citizen
Improve personal safety
Identify and develop open green space and recreation areas
